Use the calculator as a transparent estimate, not an official bill. It breaks the amount into energy charges, fixed charges, fuel or quarterly adjustments, financing surcharge, electricity duty, GST and TV fee so you can see which line item changed.

How the slab math works
Residential bills are usually not calculated by multiplying every unit by one flat number. The calculator first chooses the consumer class, then applies the relevant unit bands. For progressive slab estimates, only the units that fall inside a band are multiplied by that band's rate.
Worked slab calculation example
Step
What is calculated
Example with 250 units
1
First slab units
100 units x the first unprotected slab rate
2
Second slab units
100 units x the second unprotected slab rate
3
Remaining units
50 units x the 201-300 unprotected slab rate

Add bill-specific lines
FPA/FCA, QTA, surcharge, duty, GST, TV fee and arrears
If the official tariff schedule treats your category as non-progressive or applies a special subsidy, protected status, or minimum charge, use the editable fields to match your bill and verify the result against the official bill copy.
Protected status
Protected billing normally depends on previous consumption history and official eligibility rules, not only the current month's unit count. Do not switch to protected rates just because this month is below 200 units.
FPA/FCA and QTA
Fuel price adjustment and quarterly tariff adjustment can change by notification and may appear as positive or negative lines. Enter the per-unit amount printed on your bill when comparing a real account.
Why estimates differ
Official bills can include arrears, meter rent, late payment surcharge, installment recovery, load-based fixed charges, or taxes that are not obvious from unit consumption alone.
